I do building soil tests, EMO geotechnical soil tests, pollution soil tests, footing probe soil tests, percolation soil tests, land capability assessments (LCA), bushfire attack levels (BAL), wind ratings and spot levels .I work in Melbourne and country Victoria (Australia). My minimum fee is $450 ($1000 for LCA) inc gst. I am insured. I do reports for all my work. I have been doing this type of work for over 30 years. I use a hand auger. I can work anywhere you can walk into. There is no noise, machinery or special safety requirements. These days a builder has to get “foundation data” for a house or pool. This usually is done by employing someone like me to do a building soil test. I started working for myself as “CIVIL AND SOIL” in 1991, followed by “CIVIL & SOIL PTY LTD” in 1996.
